TACACs server address ipv4

Have a bit of an issue and was wondering if anyone has come across it

We have some 9300s in our environment that were running 16.9.4 and tacacs was working fine. Our tacacs server is part of Clearpass and uses a public IP address.

Since moving to 16.12.2 we’ve been enable to use tacacs. The command

‘server address ipv4’ does not accept a non RFC1918 address.

has anyone come across this or know of a workaround?
