use ciscoworks to configure Cat6509

I need to use ciscoworks to configure 6509 using SNMP protocol. Our Cat6509 has 2 ip addresses: 1 for Layer2 and 1 for layer 3. When I tried to open CiscoView to connect Layer3 IP address, it prompted:"it is subdevice, you need to open parent." Then I open via Layer2 IP address, I don't know how to change the configuration in the layer 3 part.

Can someone show me?

Launch CiscoView on the Supervisor IP address (i.e. layer 2 management address). Next to the Supervisor module in the chassis view, you will see a router icon. Right-click on this icon, and you will be able to monitor and configure MSFC details.
