Usertracking on Accesspoints - need help

Does anyone know, how usertracking works on accesspoints? There is no cam table. Does it query the assosiations to get mac & ip address? I just get a snapshot from the moment, when ut checks the ap. Is there a possibilty to track wireless users, which have disassosiated before UT query the accesspoint? Thx
