Virtual-Access interfaces change after a reload

We are using multilink PPP and virtual templates, which delivers all the good things for voice etc. However every time the routers reload the virtual-access interfaces (and associated COS) change which makes monitoring and managing bandwidth impossible or at the least very labour intensive.

Does anyone have a solution for this, we have tried "snmp-server ifindex persist" but it's no the interface index thats the issue it's the configuration of the virtual-access interface.

Any assistance would be greatly appriciated, as the joy of reconfiguring a 100 interfaces in our management platform after each reload has long gone.

Do you use any kind of NMS software ? I think you can use the same for this purpose.

We use BMC Dashboard, Openview and Statscout. The problem is that after each reload The virtual-access interfaces are spawned from different virtual-templates.

Virtual-access 5 could point to office-2 and after the reload (or circuit reset) point to office-6. So the NMS that monitors Virtual-access 5 will now be recording traffic stats for office-6 instead of office-1.

Which is a real problem when a router has over 50 atm PVC's and I'm trying to manage bandwidth costing well over $100k a month.
