Virtualizing Ciscoworks LMS 3.2 server

We are currently running LMS 3.2 on a Windows server 2003 and our server group is planning to virtualize the server using VMWARE3.5. The hostname will stay the same but IP will be different. Aside from the IP change, do you see any issues that we could encounter? Is there anything I need to be aware of or is usually a seamless process? Thanks in advance!

Changing the ip-address should not take any effect for the application because LMS uses the hostname for communication.

Here you can find a documentation for LMS 2.6, I think it is the same for LMS 3.2:

And here you can find another thread to this topic for LMS 3.0:

It depends on how you're going to do this.  If you use the VMWare agent to migrate a physical server to a VM, you should be fine (provided Daemon Manager is shutdown at the time).  The thing to make sure of is that the VM has at least as much resources as the physical server.  Once you get the VM up on the new IP, then just restart Daemon Manager, and everything should pick up where it left off.
