Which MIBS for SNMP Hardware Monitoring

Hi all,

We are willing to monitor the HW status of 3560 Cisco switches and 2900 routers through an SNMP third-party software, and we are not sure which MIBs we should use. We first took a look at the DFM User Guide where a certain amount amount of MIBs are referenced as "polled MIBs" at appendix A (page 302 of the PDF file), but again, it is not easy to find out which one to choose.

Your assitance and experience would be much appreciated.

Regards

Hi,

What is the hardware information you need from the devices?

Please share the equivalent CLI commands that you use to get the information you want using SNMP.

For environmental variables like fans, power supplies and temperature the following tables may help:

ciscoEnvMonTemperatureStatusTable (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3)

ciscoEnvMonVoltageStatusTable(1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.2)

ciscoEnvMonFanStatusTable(1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.4)

ciscoEnvMonSupplyStatusTable(1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.5)

All these tables are part of CISCO-ENVMON-MIB, you can check if your IOS supports it in the following link:

I hope this helps.

Andres

Hi Andres,

Thanks for your response, it is indeed helpful.

Sorry, I did not specify, in my initial message, that we need to HW faults.
