5510 Installing High Availability

TOM FRANCHINA

Level 1

We have a 5510 running the following version:

Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 8.2(1)11
Device Manager Version 6.2(1)

WMHFW5510 up 1 year 157 days

Hardware:   ASA5510-K8, 256 MB RAM, CPU Pentium 4 Celeron 1600 MHz
Internal ATA Compact Flash, 256MB
BIOS Flash M50FW080 @ 0xffe00000, 1024KB

We would like to install a high availability unit along side the running unit. Will the Primary unit need to be reloaded to complete the configuration and have the second unit become a active standby.

Thanks,

Tom

Do you have the Security Plus license on both units? It's a prerequisite on the 5510.

No reload of the Primary-Active will be necessary to add a Secondary-Standby unit.
