I am wondering when to apply active/active failover on two ASA. Is this typically deploy for multi-mode (ASA with different customers/context)?

Thanks.

Active/Active failover can only be deployed in multi context mode. With Active/Active Failover, some contexts are active on one ASA & remaining on the other ASA.

Hi.

Active/active failover means that one router is the backup of the other & viceversa. One router can recover the activity of the other. you have to configure the router to use multiple context,  (you must have a license allowing it) .Indeed a have of one router(standby context) will be the backup of the have of the other router (the active context) & viceversa. The aplication of active/active failover is higth availability while distributing traffic bettwen the two router.

You must have  two routeur (for exemple two asa) with same  hardware and same IOS,read this: On each router you create two context 1 & 2 alos two failover groups must be created

router 1

failover-group1 primary

failover-group2 secondary

we add context1 to failover-group1

we add context2 to failover-group2

router 2

failover-group1 secondary

failover-group2 primary

we add context1 to failover-group1

we add context2  to failover-group2
