Hi,
I have got an ASA and a Pix. The ASA is working fine and now I want to create a standby functions with PIX and wants the HSRP type of functionality between ASA and PIX. I read the document related with this one, which says the model as well as the number of interface should be same. If I compromise on some of the functionality will I be able to create active/standby case with ASA and pix.
Does ASA 5505 will function the Active/Standby function for the testing purpose ?
Regards,
Mero

Hello Mero,
The asa 5505 can be on a failover cluster but it's not going to work with a PIX as both need to be the same hardware model and OS version.

Dear Mero,
You can use this P/N: ASA5505-SEC-BUN-K9 for Active/Standby.
Best Regards,
Rechard
