I'm having some trouble with very basic setup, I'm trying to make a very plain and simple network with the ASA 5505, I've strated from scratch over a dozen times triyng to find where I'm going wrong. My main goal is to simply create an IPSec VPN connection to my ASA 5505 and simply ping and connect to devices with the "inside network", so far I can easily create and establish a IPSec VPN Connection, but up to this point, I cannot successfully ping or access a single device on the ASA 5505 inside network.
Steps, I've taken, create the IPSec profile with the ASDM wizard, add exemption for the VPN IP Pool, add access-list from this Cisco help link,
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/products_tech_note09186a00807e0aca.shtml#unableto
All this and I can't make a single connection to the inside network. Here's my route config, any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Do you see any log-messages regarding your test-traffic on the ASA?

Your vpn-pool-mask can cause problems as it includes the internal subnet. Change it to the following and try again:
ip local pool AnyPool1 192.168.2.1-192.168.2.10 mask 255.255.255.255
As a best practice you could align the pool on subnet borders (e.g. 192.168.2.1-192.168.2.15) which makes it easier to configure filtering or routing for the vpn-pool-subnet.

Made the change to
ip local pool AnyPool1 192.168.2.1-192.168.2.15 mask 255.255.255.255
Unfortuntaely still unable to ping, or access devices on inside network.

- Are you using the user "Siphion" for testing? The user "ecton1" can't work.
- In the statistics of the VPN-client, do you see packets encrypted/sent?
- Did you change the config? There's something strange with your tunnel-group-names (S-1 vs. S1)

Yes, I am connecting with "Siphion" username, apologies for the config mistype, a few names/values were "unique" which I had to alter to post.
When I had this config and AnyConnect setup, there was packets moving through, which I could confirm.
However I am now using IPSEC with Mac OS X and I don't have a way to check if packets for the tunnel.
Though here's the paste of the routes on that Mac OS X machine, if this helps.

Yes, the ASA 5505 is showing traffic from my IPSEC connection, however all the messages in logs are "teardown UDP", etc, as I have an application trying to connect with a server inside the network, which it cannot. Though the log messages indicate 192.168.2.6/49333 to outside 192.168.2.6/5006, seems to be the packets aren't reaching the correct hop possibly?
01-20-2013 09:44 PM
Looks like I found the issue, the router I use for my personal network, is behond another router, which subnets 192.168.1.1.....
Once I corrected the conflict with the subnet 192.168.1.0/24 and moved it to another subnet, I can access my remote network just fine.
