Hi,
I've Cisco devices ASA 5505 ver 7.2 software. The issue
involves SNMP, specifically the monitoring of traffic counters to
create traffic graphs (MRTG). I can poll the device and I
get a response. I can list interface descriptions/ip address etc.
Everything else appears to be working fine. When I monitor the
inbound and outbound traffic I get responses back via SNMP, but the
values show same on all interfaces (outside, inside, dmz).
I've never seen this before and I'm wondering if this is bug.
Any ideas?
Thanks
PATO

Is there a .cfg config file for prtg like there is for mrtg? Could you post it?

Pato, I'm running into the same issue w/ MRTG and BMC Dashboard. Have you received any fix responses?

Hi,
I've seen that, too -- my guess is that this indeed is a bug: the ASA 5505 internally has switch ports only, which are kept separate by using VLANs. Apparently, the 5505 SNMP agent is smart enough to show the VLAN interface names and addresses, but shows the traffic data of the main interface only (of which there is only one).
On the other hand, the ADSM somehow can display correct traffic statistics for ASA 5505, but I do not know how it obtains the data.

Hi Frederik,
did you open the TAC case on Cisco site about this problem with ASA 5505?
