Hi,
I jus took over this network that has a ASA5510 box. I went through all the diagrams and detials and tried to connect to the Firewall via ASDM loaded in another machine.
When i entered the IP,username and password it waits for sometime and gives a timeout error. I do not know how to connect otherwise.
Please help.

With the 5510 and most other cisco security appliances you need to specify what has access to the appliance via ssh, telnet, http/asdm.
Example
hostname(config)# http 192.168.3.0 255.255.255.0 inside
You are probably getting that error because that machine does not have access to the ASA via ASDM. Here is a document that should help clear some more things up.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa71/configuration/guide/mgaccess.html
Please rate if this is helpful. Thanks

Thanks for the info. This was working fine previously according to the previous person who was administering but after CISCO support logged into our appliance and did some configuration it is not working.
I am not very familiar with command line interface. Should i call CISCO support again?
