If you have entitlement, the ASA 5505 software that's still available is the same image that will run on the 5510.

File "asa917-32-k8.bin" is the one you need.

@olutesam I recommend you start a new discussion.
If you want helpful advice, please provide some details on your requirements - how many interfaces, how much throughput, do you need high availability, any VPNs (site-site or remote access). Is this for home or work? Also, very importantly, do you have a budget?

hi marvin,
for some reason, we've got an ASA 5510 still being used to cater to anyconnect clients.
i needed to update the image from 9.1.6 > 9.1.7 with the last image for the 5510 "asa917-32-k8.bin".
just to confirm the compatible ASDM is 7.18(1.152) per the compatibility matrix and the latest downloadable ASDM software?
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/compatibility/asamatrx.html#reference_upj_nkl_x4b
Table 1. ASA and ASDM Compatibility: 9.18 to 9.17
ASAASDM
9.17(1.13) | 7.18(1.152) |

@johnlloyd_13 You're mixing up 9.17 and 9.1(7).
However, my experience is that newer ASDM versions will typically work with older ASA software (to a point - I would not expect to manage ASA 7.x / PIX with a new ASDM).

hi marvin,
my bad, you're right.
using the same URL, is it safe to say the compatible ASDM for 9.1.7.x should be 7.5.2?
Table 6. ASA and ASDM Compatibility: 9.2 to 9.1
9.1(7.4) | 7.5(2) |
edit - 7.5(2) is no longer available in the download page.
can i go 7.6.2 "asdm-762-150.bin" instead? higher ASDM version should work on lower ASA image, correct?
