Hi,

We have ASA 9.8 with active and standby , recently it is observed that fail over happened automatically with failure reason as MIO Heartbeat Failure    for both devices (FPR2100) , when searched found that there is remedy as add command app-agent heartbeat interval 3000 retry-count 5 for Bug CSCvh26447 or to upgrade the version. Note this is not a frequent but the occasional incident. So what should be opted as solution.

current config and state

service-policy global_policy global

app-agent heartbeat interval 1000 retry-count 3

# sh failover state

               State          Last Failure Reason      Date/Time

This host  -   Secondary

               Active         MIO Heartbeat Failure    00:00:02 UTC Feb 28 2020

Other host -   Primary

               Standby Ready  MIO Heartbeat Failure    15:38:28 UTC Mar 24 2020

====Configuration State===

        Sync Done

        Sync Done - STANDBY

====Communication State===

        Mac set

Arun

Hi,

    I would upgrade and use lower values than the one provided as a bug workaround; in the end you want to faster detect failure to communicate over the backplane with the Firepower chasis.

Hello Team,

Could you please confirm earliest, is there any impact by below command.

Command

app-agent heartbeat interval 3000 retry-count 5

Also as per you this command need to configure on system mode on globally.==> confirm on this.

Hope workaround would be good to go rather then software upgrade..

Kindly suggest..

Best Regards

Anil Singh
