ASA 5512-X console not working?

My problem is, i can't connect to my ASA over Console.

This is what i have done:
I wanted to clear my startup configuration. So i entered the following command:

> write erase
Then it asked me if i want to clear my configuration. I pressed Enter. Everything fine. Then i entered the configuration for the ASDM access over Management Port. Whil configuring this. The System shut down.

Then, off course because there is no configuration, i can't connect to any of the EthernetPorts because they are shut down. So i tried console but i dont have success. All three lights are green: PS, BOOT, ACTIVE.

I am using the Trendnet USB-to-Serial Converter on WIN7 with Terra Term & Putty. I can access my old Router (Model 1812) with the Cable and the Laptop. But not the ASA. Any suggestions what i should try? Could it be that I have deleted the whole Disk? Or something like that? Or maybe the console port is defect? Because it is a new ASA and no one has ever used it.

I really don't know what to do next ...

PS: I hope I have posted to right Topic.

Hey Julian,

Try using hyperterminal on any other system and using the default settings. Even if you dont have configuration, the device should come up with boot image which was setup previously. The disk is not cleared when you do write erase.

If you have a valid contract, you might want to open a TAC case to investigate further.

Thanks Dinesh. I will try this tomorrow. Are there any other solutions?`I really hope this will work.

Apparently I don't have a contract. I bought it online.

Adding to what Dinesh said - capture the output from your terminal emulator as your ASA boots up. Share that with us and we can provide additional guidance.

It stays completely empty. Completely Nothing shows up. Therefor I ordered a new USB-to-Serial Adapter Cable, because I thought this is the problem, but with the new one I can enter my old router without troubles. Only the ASA output stays completely empty all the time. But like i mentioned, all light are green: Powersupply, Boot and Active.

hi,

i suspect you got locked out when you entered the config for ASDM access.

did you reboot the ASA without saving the config and able to console afterwards?

could you post the config that you did?

I can't post the configuration i did, because i don't have access to it. But i followed this Turtorial:
https://networkingdocs.wordpress.com/2010/08/09/allowing-https-access-for-asdm/
The ASA shutted down while entering the IP. So the only configuration should be the RSA key, hostname & user.
