We have an ASA 5516X with 8GB of DRAM, that we're looking to squeeze at least one more year of service out of. It's running FTD v7.0.6.1 and we're getting periodic warnings about Snort memory usage. (Right now it shows about 2.42 out of a max of 2.99GB used by Snort).
I've been looking for info on DRAM upgrade options for the 5516X, but am coming up short. I wanted to find out if 1) upgrading the DRAM is an option for this unit, and if so 2) would the upgrade provide additional memory for Snort.
Thanks

It's not an option and in any case it would not help with Snort. There are a few bug workarounds and tuning recommendations that could help with that. It's best to engage TAC to have a detailed look in real time to troubleshoot the issue properly.

If you see same snort is consuming memory then it highly from fat traffic'
You need to bypass this traffic from snort.
