i have a customer who upgraded his java and cannot open his asdm anymore , he asked me to upgrade his asdm so that new java would open the asdm again , the customer currently have:

5520 with

firmware 9.1(7)

asdm-716.bin which i guess mean 7.1

the Cisco driver webpage shows the latest version is 7.9 , can i upgrade the asdm only with the current firmware version ? can i jump directly to 7.9 ? would the configuration get affected?
