ASA 5520 with AIP SSM-20 New License question.

We have 2 of these in active standby failover setup. Have purchased new licenses for the IPS SSM-20, will it affect the pair if I go ahead and tell them to install from cisco.com??? what is the proceedure?? where can I find it.. I have 9 days to get this done can anyone assist..

Also as a side note Will the IPS reboot when the new license is applied?

No, it will not reboot when the new license is applied.

If you have purchased the 2 licenses, just go to IDM, and make sure that the IPS module managment port is connected to your network and it has connectivity to the internet.

Go to the licensing section, and choose download license from cisco.com, and it will automaticallly grab the license file from cisco.com based on the serial# of the AIP module.
