Hi Everyone,

How do you delete the "passwd" config on a ASA5550.

I tried to perform the 'no' command but it is still there????

the config line is:

passwd xxxx.xxxx encrypted

Thanks

Alfred

You can not remove the command "passwd" from the config.

The "no" command only resets it back to the default password, which is "cisco".

Here is the command for your reference:

Hi Alfred,

There is no way to remove this command from configuration, however, if you need stronger encryption for your password use following command:

password encryption aes

Following command will disable password encryption:

no password encryption aes

And "no password" command only resets password to default password.
