ASA 5580 system led flashing red

Hi, the company I work for recently bought an ASA 5580 (refurbished). Today I tried to begin to "know it" (connect both power supplies) and it starts ok but after some seconds the System led starts flashing red. I removed the cover and checked the Diagnostic Panel and all the leds of PPM1 are ambar.

All network interfaces are down, so I can't see nothing on my terminal. Can anybody helpme please??? I must say that this is my first time with the 5580... I have 5520 and 5540 (working fine) but those seems very simple compared to the 5580.

system LED flashing red means a system health failure.  Contact your local Cisco partner or reseller and have them issue an RMA for the device.

You can look at the following guide to identify which part is faulty.

From your description, looks like either the processor power module is faulty. Open a case with Cisco or as MariusGunnerud mentioned, ask your reseller to provide a replacement unit. The processor power module can be replaced individually, so you may not need to replace the entire unit.

sorry to ask but, what´s an RMA????

RMA stands for Return Material Authorization.  It is Cisco's part replacement program which is normally free of charge as long as the device is under warranty.
