Can someone look at attached files pics and help me understand what the difference is between Dynamic Pat & Dynamic PAT (HIDE) ? It appears from this ASA config the Dynamic PAT (HIDE) was explicitly chosen for the Backup interface and I don't understand what for. Any ideas???

@keithcclark71 are you confusing Dynamic PAT with Dynamic NAT?

Dynamic PAT - translates IP and ports of multiple hosts behind one or more public IP addresses. http://www.practicalnetworking.net/stand-alone/cisco-asa-nat/#dynamicpat

Dynamic NAT - Translates only the IP address, not the ports. A one-to-one mapping. Allows multiple internal hosts with Private IP addresses to temporarily be assigned a public IP address for the duration of the session. Rarely used. http://www.practicalnetworking.net/stand-alone/cisco-asa-nat/#dynamicnat

Dynamic PAT (hide) like PAT in router
all Inside Subnet hide behind the Out interface IP.
please notice we talk about dynamic PAT not static PAT.

Why would one choose Dynamic Pat (Hide) as opposed to Dynamic Pat ???
