asa license question - active vs standby

I have one ASA5520 with the following:

Licensed features for this platform:
Maximum Physical Interfaces : Unlimited
Maximum VLANs               : 100
Inside Hosts                : Unlimited
Failover                    : Active/Active
VPN-DES                     : Enabled
VPN-3DES-AES                : Enabled
Security Contexts           : 2
GTP/GPRS                    : Disabled
VPN Peers                   : 750
WebVPN Peers                : 2

I am now buying a second ASA to run in failover mode but I want it to run as Active\Standby and not active\active (I never actually configured contexts and I am not sure how to do so).  Do I need to get a new failover license?

Hi Ronni,

Per the configuration guide the base license for the 5520 supports both active/standby and active/active failover:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa82/configuration/guide/license.html#wp1348085

Note that with the base license only 2 contexts are supported.

Let me know if you have any quesitons.

Regards,

Loren
