Hello all,
I have one ASA 5520. This ASA and 2 other routers are connected to a switch and they are in same subnet as well.
I create 2 default routes in ASA and point to these 2 routers. ( Pls note that both default routes are pointing to same outgoing interface).
After creating this , i can see both routes installed in ASA's routing table. But its not loadbalancing.
ASA is transmitting through only one path. So i was wondering , is there anything which switching mechanism can do like routers?
Like CEF, what is the swithcing mech: used in ASA to switch the packets from incoming to outgoing interface?
Can anyone try to help in this??
Thanks in advance,
Vibin.

If the routes have the same cost there should be a load balancing based on a hash algorithm.
"You can define up to three equal cost routes to the same destination per interface. ECMP is not supported across multiple interfaces. With ECMP, the traffic is not necessarily divided evenly between the routes; traffic is distributed among the specified gateways based on an algorithm that hashes the source and destination IP addresses."

If you can gather the following outputs to have a clearer view of the problem:
show run route
show route
show asp table routing
