I have to choose between a pix501 or asa5505-k9 for a firewall on a small office.
Wich one is recomended.
Is the ASA the future replacemente for the PIX?
Thanks

The ASA's will eventually replace the PIX. I would suggest the ASA5505 because a PIX 501 only supports the 6.x code and the ASA will support the newer code and will provide a longer product life.
HTH and please rate.

Definitely ASA because PIX is going to reach End of sale status...
PIX 501 can run only 6.x code and 6.x is not maintained anymore
ASA 5505 can run 7.x so you can have latest updates
ASA has also more interfaces
