Hi,
I have an ASA 5505 (ASDM 6.4(5); ASA 8.4(2)) connected to both a NetGear switch (GS724TR) and Comcast cable modem. All workstations in the building are connected to the switch via internal building wiring (e.g., patch panel and wall ports). I do not run multiple VLANS on either the ASA or NetGear.
I've noticed that once someone start to streaming A/V (e.g., Hulu, Netflix, etc.) it quickly cannibalizing the network connection. I was wondering if there is a way to have the ASA 5505 prioritize all data other than streaming data over streaming data? What would be the most efficient way to go about doing this? Can prioritization be done based on IP address, MAC address, etc.? Any examples would be greatly appreciated. I've search the Cisco website and there is some good documentation on the subject but I suppose I'm looking for infomation directed toward my specific need.
I'm still new to Cisco devices so please consider me a novice. Any ASDM examples would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
