I am new to the ASA product line. I have an ASA5540 running ASA ver 8.0(3) with ADSM ver 6.0(3). When I look at the device dashboard I see the following message pop into the syslog every couple seconds:
[ Scanning] drop rate-1 exceeded. Current burst rate is 10 per second, max configured rate is 10; Current average rate is 24 per second, max configured rate is 5; Cumulative total count is 14838
At this time I only have my internal LAN interface active. Is something on the inside LAN trying to scan the ASA? Is there a way to slow down or prevent these messages? Are these normal and bening?
Thanks,
Tom
