ASA upgrade asks for cisco.com credentials

hi all,

when I'm trying to check for updates from ASDM on ASA 9.13(1)10 (i'm using cisco firepower 1140 appliance) I am asked to enter username and password for Cisco.com (see picture attached).

Does anybody know what credentials have to be entered? Personal cisco account is not accepted. Appliance is fully licensed so I expect to get upgrades..

How to obtain valid credentials for that?

Correct…. That’s always been the case… you need a support contract to be entitled to software updates. Should be listed as Smartnet on your quote/order details.

hi, I don't think any account was registered when the contract was signed. I will check it with the procurement department, but since no one from IT staff knows any corporation cisco account it is highly unlikely someone else was doing account creation.

@kasun I cant't download upgrade image without paying with my account.

Correct.  CCO needs to confirm you have an active support contract.  Why not just download directly from CCO?

What is CCO?

Hi,

If you don't know the associated Cisco account that gets you access, why don't you perform the updates manually (download content via web by using a Cisco account that has access, and perform the update manually).

Best,

Cristian.

because I DON'T have account that has an access to the cisco software downloads.

So does this firewall have an active support contract?  If not you aren't entitled to updates.

I'll have to check procurement documents next week, all I know for now is it costed us around 6000 Eur in the middle of 2020. So CISCO not giving support to new hardware by default?
