ASA upgrade from 8.2(2)12 to 9.0.1

Hi everybody,

I want to upgrade my ASA to the lastest version.

I already have 1Gb of memory.

I dont have any NAT in that ASA. I just have some ACLs and QoS.

It should be OK upgrade to 9.0.1? Any opinion about this version?

I will use ASDM 7.0.2

Thanks

Diego

The code has only been out a couple of weeks so there's always a chance you will run into bugs. I've deplyed it on some ASA X's w/o a problem.

I agree.. I will use 8.4.5.

Thanks.

I plan on doing the same upgrade with our production ASA5520's but were going to use the failover ASA first.  But what I want to know is how will the new upgrade affect our current running config?

We have all types of NAT statements in our ASA and the NAT address on outside interface ACL.  Any thoughts or suggestions?

Miguel

Hi Miguel,

I already did an upgrade from 8.2X to 8.4X with many NATs in my others firewalls. I guess you know in 8.4 NAT had many changes.

In that case, I had problems with some NATs. Just it!. I did a backup and mapped NATs first to make a double check with new version and thats it!

After double check, I fixed the NATs missing and fine.

Maybe a Cisco Specialist, or another member of the forum can help with other idea.
