Is there a way to get a historical log (say for about 2 months) of how many users connected to the VPN?

ASDM does not seem to provide more than 5 days

Hi,

You can configure syslogging.

You cannot find the numbe of users who connected at a particular point of time. we can find the number of users which are connected at current point of time. No command can tell the number of users connected at one point of time ( i.e. in the past time)

Here is the link which gives you details of configuring the syslog server.

Hi,

Wanted to add something, as mentioned in previous post that at this time we can't have that number for past but if logs for past are available then you may write script/software to extract ready to use information and for future either write some script that will automatically pull that information from ASA (time to time, may be hourly/daily etc) and will plot that in form of graph or check SNMP polling option available for plotting the session count so that the information can be used in future (or when needed).

Here is a link for document 'SNMP MIBs and traps on the ASA-Additional infomration'

https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-1295

I hope this will help.
