ASAv: ASDM upgrade causes error "Unable to launch device Manager from"

Hello everybody,

I have just updated the ASDM from 7.19(1)95 to 7.22(1) om a ASAv running 9.19(1)28.

previous ASDM: 2808 196058416 May 29 2024 16:15:30 asdm-openjre-7191-95.bin
new ASDM: 2820 204561552 Feb 06 2025 14:30:58 asdm-openjre-7221.bin

I have got the error message on a Windows 11 PC running Java V. 8 Update 421:

"Unable to launch device Manager from <IP of the ASAv>"

Then I downloaded the a new ASDM launcher from this ASAv and installed it.

Also with this new ASDM launcher I get the same error message (see attached).
This should not occur at all.

Attached you find the configuration.

What can I do to get the ASDM working?

Could it be the image is corrupted? try please to issue the command "verify disk0:/asdm-openjre-7221.bin" and see if the embedded and calculated hash keys are the same. If they are, try to use the command "show asdm image" to make sure the firewall actually is using that image. If that also looks good probably I would turn on the http and asdm history debugs while trying to connect and look for any logs that would suggest the root cause:

debug asdm history 127
