now we have two link from remote site to core site. one is main and another is backup. for the main link, there are only routers and switches, but for the backup link, there are one PIX firewall. from remote site, we need to access a server in core site, if through main link, it's OK,just access the server's real IP address, but when through the backup link, for the PIX, if using NAT, we cannot connect to the server by its real address.

Yes, this is possible. Which command to use is depending on your setup. Command "nat () 0 " prevents packets from being translated when they pass the PIX.

The static command static might have to be used in cases where you will not need translation, but do have the need to proxy.

Hope this helps,

Leo
