Cisco ASA 5540 to 5555X Migration

Hi People,

I have a quick question, I'm trying to migrate a config file from a ASA 5540 to a 5555X.

The 5540 config is on version 9.1 and I'd like to migrate to 9.6

I've researched that it's a direct upgrade but are there any CLI changes from 9.6 to 9.1 that I should be concerned when using the same config file?

I look forward to your reply.

Thanks in advanced

Sincerely,

Dante V.

Hi Dante,

You can check the release note of 9.6 and see if there is any reported syntax change, if not you can still keep a copy of you old configuration and check something changed after the upgrade.

Hope this info helps!!

Hi Dante,

There are not considerable syntax changes between those version, you should be able to migrate the config files without any problem.

Hope this info helps!!

Where in the config can I expect to see some syntax changes (if any)?

Just so that I'm prepare to research for the appropiate syntax.
