The ASA configuration guide is 1994 pages long and 9.x has broken it into 3 volumes. Depending on what you want to do, there's a lot more than can be covered in a simple support forum thread.
The simplest method (but not necessarily the best) is to start with the quick start guide to get up and running and then follow the ASDM configuration wizards to to basic setup and configuration,
