Cisco ASA5505 8.2(5) blocking access to server via VPN

Hello Everyone,

I can VPN into my home network just fine however when I try to access my NAS, 192.168.5.20/445, the firewall is blocking it.  Sometimes it works, other times it does not.  Typicall I will VPN in with my iPAD or laptop and try to access my pictures, movies etc...I am sure its just a ACL or rule I need to create but I cannot figure this one out.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Mike,

If this is working sometimes and sometimes fails, is not going to be ACL.

If you want to control access via VPN you need to use VPN filter which can be applied from VPN group policy.

By default (if you don't use any filters) all traffic is permited and any interface ACL is bypassed.

Regards

Mariusz

Ok thanks, maybe its local windows firewall on the server.  Server is a Western Digital Sentinel.  I will take a peek at the local rules/filters.
