Cisco Firepower 1010 Secondary SSD

Hello, I have had my FPR1010 for a while now.  To my understanding, there is a 200 GB embedded SSD storage in the appliance.  I was just reading about an M.2 slot to expand the storage but have not opened the appliance yet as I am not in position to do so.  I know I can ask about what it is for and will get the traditional "it depends" response.  So I am just looking at use cases for now like would it be used for such as additional logging storage or caching of some sort and where I can find documentation on it.  I have been struggling with search engines lately.

Regards.

It is not a supported option to expand the storage on a 1010.

Storage

One 200-GB M.2 SATA SSD drive

The drive is used by the software; there is no user access to the drive.

The drive is not field-replaceable; you must return the chassis to Cisco for drive replacement.

Sorry for the delay in responding.  I still have not confirmed on my own model but I did find an ebay listing that shows the interior of the FPR-1010 and it has a M.2 slot populated with a Cisco branded 240 GB SSD.  This is what sparked my question on the matter.

Regards.

I would be very hesitant about anything on eBay. Especially when, like the ad you linked, they expressly say you are buying it as-is and not fully tested.

Interesting how they stress you only get what you see in the included photos and none of those show the external power supply. Also other sellers on the page offer 1010's for about half the price... Red flags all over on that one.

Oh I am not buying that listing, I was just referencing it to show an example of my question since one of the pictures showed it to have expandable storage when the manual said otherwise.

Regards.
