We're looking at buying a Cisco 2130 NGFW. The plan is to connect using the SFP+ on the firewall to SFP+ on a Dell N3224T-ON, is there any reason not to use one of the uplink ports on a switch to connect these two devices together? We're wanting to get a 10G connection. Our network is very flat. As in it's only one VLAN.

I do not see any reason if the uplink ports are free and FW is the transit traffic to north bound.
Look out there is new 3K FW (AMD chipset ) released more performance than 2K with same price (only draw back my multi-instance yet)

Look at the 3110 it is far more powerful and similar cost.
