Hi.
We currently have a Cisco FMC operating out of Datacenter (DC1) running on version 6.4.0.14 (Build 67) and now there is a requirement to migrate this off the current ESX environment (to be decommissioned) to another DC's ESX environment. The Cisco FMC at the moment manages 4 x Cisco FirePower Threat Defense Firewalls (4120) running on version 6.4.0.14.
The idea is to clone the current FMC VM and then move this into the new ESX environment (DC2) then re-ip and spin the vm up. Once it is up we were planning to update the management ip address for the 4 x FTDs via FXOS Chassis manager gui.
Has anyone tried this before? Will this work?
Thanks.

@3rdman ok well 6.4 is not supported on ESX 7.0, so you might wish to upgrade to FMCv 7.0.5 or 7.2.3 now, which does support ESX 6.7 on your current ESX environment and ESX 7.0 in your new environment. Once upgraded you can then move to your new Vmware environment.
6.4 is extremely old, almost of out software maintenance.

@3rdman what Vmware version are you running currently in the old and in the new environment?
FMCv 6.4 supports - VMware vSphere/VMware ESXi 6.0 or 6.5 https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/firepower/640/relnotes/firepower-release-notes-640/compatibility.html
If you new environment is running a newer Vmware version you may have to upgrade the FMCv before migrating.

Thanks Rob.
The current ESX version is 6.7.0 for our Cisco FMC.
The new ESX environment is 7.0.3.
