Hey guys! My school uses the Cisco NAC Agent for security on our network, but it's giving me problems at the moment. It requires that my Windows is fully updated, a mandatory requirement. However, I have ran Windows Updates automatically for awhile now, and I've spent the last few hours manually downloading, installing, system restoring to a past date, and then redownloading, etc.
I am in my third year on this campus, and I have always had minor problems, none of which caused me an issue until now. I am not sure what the underlying problem is, and I'm not sure if it's a common problem at this point, but I was hoping I could recieve better help here than from the guys at the student technology services desk. I am currently working from my laptop on the campus wireless, but this doesn't help me get my desktop online
I have attached the Cisco Report Log from the packager.

Hi,
We can see that the agent is telling you:
"Your computer is missing one or more critical updates. Please run Windows Update and ensure that you have all critical patches installed."
And it is true that the Agent is making some checks for which is failing.
Now these checks are checking some registry keys, related to Internet Explorer, and few other internal items.
Unfortunately, it is your network administrator that needs to help you resolve this problem, as the NAC manager application will have a detailed report of what exactly is failing in your machine and then either the Requirements are changed to allow you to access or your machine needs to comply with the requirements.

Hi Aurthur,
I understand that the question is regarding NAC. Please move it to the Other Security Subjecty Forum. Probably then the NAC Experts can answer your questions.
Regards,
Anisha
