Cisco PIX 515e with ADSL and dynamic IP

Hi,

How can i configure cisco 515e to be used with ADSL and dynamic IP address. Currently I am having a lease line with static IP addresses. My ISP is providing me a dialup ADSL line with dynamic IP addresses.

Please help me.

Hi

you can make use of ip address outside pppoe command to get the ip address from the SP.

If u want to set the default route as provided by ur SP then u need to add setroute in addition the above command.

verify with the isp whether the adsl supports pppoe.

e.g.

vpdn group pppoe_group request dialout pppoe

vpdn group pppoe_group localname

vpdn group pppoe_group ppp authentication chap

vpdn username password

further, one critical point is that v7 doesn't support pppoe, so stick with v6.x
