Dug into current Cisco documents, but can't find the answer to (hopefully) simple question - is Cisco planning to replace ASA with FTD software? Or we are going to have both OSes available for at least few more years?

@Ibrahimus ASA software is still being developed with new features, so will likely be around for a few years to come. The FTD is the sucessor and has the NGFW features the ASA lacks. It depends on what your requirements are as to which software you run, the Firepower hardware will support ASA or FTD software images.
