Hi,

I have two ASA 5508-X, I configure BVI interface on each ASA and assign port 6,7,8 to that BVI. Can I configure OSPF to form neighbor between these 2 ASA via this BVI interface?

can you ping between the IP addresses on these two BVIs?

remember OSPF requires multicast between neighbours to discover each other

Hi Dennis,

I can ping between BVI IP addresses . I configured OSPF, but they do not form neighbor.

Thanks,

Phung

This is from the ASA config guide:

"In routed mode, to route between bridge groups and other routed interfaces, you must name the BVI."

You should be able to configure OSPF in routed mode.

Thanks Troy, I will check and reconfigure to see if it works, I need to make sure OSPF on BVI interface is supported.

Thanks,

Phung

I named the BVI interface but no luck. My configuration seems ok as they established neighbor when I set IP address directly on other physical interface, not BVI interface.
