CSM 3.2.2-Unable to log into Manager and Client

After successfully installing CSM 3.2.2 I was able to log in to the Manager and Client. Now when I try to log in to the Manager I get Forbidden - You don't have permission to access /cwhp/LiaisonServlet on this server. Additionally, a 403 error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have already checked pdreg -l Apache and -D SSL is present in the 'flags'.

When I log on to the Client I get Error - Login Failed. CMF session id can not be assigned. Please confirm the server is running. All of my services are running. The appropriate services are set to Manual.

I am not sure what else to do.

I am having the same continuous error in the Event Viewer relating to Apache but all of the information I find on it states that it doesn't relate to this:

Apache.exe child process caused an exception and reported error. More information may be available in the error.log file. Apache.exe process will be restarted.

Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Karla

Karla,

I have seen that happen as a result of a CMF service not starting correctly. Have you tried restarting the server itself? Restarting the Daemon Manager alone may not fix the issue.

- Magnus

Hi Magnus,

I have restarted the server several times with no luck.

Thanks,

Karla

I am wondering if the 3.2.2 SP2 will fix this..going to install it in a few...

~Karla

Patch didn't work..

Still repeated Apache errors in event viewer..

Another one is:

The Apache service named C:\PROGRA~1\CSCOpx\MDC\Apache\Apache.exe reported the following error:

>>>[Wed Aug 04 19:00:15 2010] [warn] pid file c:/program files/cscopx/mdc/apache/logs/httpd.pid overwritten -- Unclean shutdown of previou Apache run? <<<

before the error.log could be opened.

More information may be available in the error.log file.

I uninstalled CSM because I had this problem of not being able to log into the application..after the reinstall it fixed the problem..but not for long..the same stuff is happening again. I am not sure what it is. One minute I was able to log in and after a reboot I was Forbidden.

~Karla

Karla,

If you are seeing 'Forbidden' errors it can be caused by (just about) a hundred different scenarios... If restarting the Daemon Manager without restarting the server does help fix it, go ahead and open a SR for this. We may need to get on the server live and take a look at some logs. You may want to proactively grab an MDC support file from the CSM server as it may help the TAC Engineer right off the bat. You can simply run 'csmdiagnostics' from the server's command line.

Dear Magnus

I am also having similar kind of issue ..

when I try to log in to the CSM Manager I get "Forbidden - You don't have permission to access /cwhp/LiaisonServlet on this server. Additionally, a 403 error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

When i try to login to CSM client i get "Login URL access s forbidden, Please make sure your protocol (http, https) is correct"

I can access the CSM server via CSM Client via http but not with https.

I have already checked pdreg -l Apache and -D SSL is present in the 'flags'.

Can you please let me know how did u manage to resolve this issue

I m running CSM 3.3.1 Build 4255

Hi Karla,

did you manage eventually to solve the issue with the login?

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

There is a work-a-round fix for my particular situation...

I have to go to Start --> My Computer --> Local Disk (C:) --> Program Files --> CSCOpx --> setup --> support --> and execute the resetCasuser.exe

Once I enter a new password or the same password it originally had I then go to services and restart the daemon manager and the other services begin to turn on...

I am going to install CSM v3.3 to see if the problem still occurs.

Thanks,

Karla

Karla,

Did you ever get this problem sorted.  I have been using CSM for over a year now with no problems but today i have this same problem.  Version is CSM version 3.2.2 service pack 3.

Error is CMF session id can not be assigned - please confirm the server is running.

any help would be appreciated.

Kevin

Jim

I got this sorted eventually.  I raised a tac call with Cisco and they logged in and fixed it for me.  It was something to do with Java and the latest service pack 3 for CSM.  Thanks, Kevin

Dear Kevin
