Hi ,
i have already implemented site to site VPNs for which there was no need for extra licensing.
But now i would like to ask if in order to implement Remote Access VPNs do i need extra licenses to buy?
And this is true either for SSL or IPSec Remote Access ?
I have purchased base, threat defence, malware and url filtering but no anyconnect license.
Can i implement some kind of remote access vpn or i need extra licneses for this (either SSL or IPSeC remote access)
I am running 7.2.5.
Thanks
Ditter

@Ditter yes, you can use any client that works...you just need the Secure Client licenses.

@Ditter you need AnyConnect/Secure Client licenses to use Remote Access VPN.
If you purchase the Advantage or Premier subscription based license, the quantity of users should be equal to the total number of Unique Users that will use Secure Client services, the minimum qty you can purchase is 25. Or purchase the VPN only license which is purchased per headend device for a specific number of maximum Concurrent Connections.

Thanks Rob and @Marius Gunnerud , in any case (advantage , premiere or vpn only) i have to use the cisco secure client always?
In case for example of SSL only vpn client could i use for example the OpenVPN Connect android app or am i limited to only use the cisco secure client. I ask this because we have a very large base of users that now use the openvpn client app to connect to our premises.
Thanks,
Ditter

@Ditter you still need to purchase the Secure Client licenses even if you using the OpenVPN Client.

Yes, a license is required to use Secure Client (and AnyConnect). You can chose from Advantage, Premier or VPN Only licenses. I would say the majority of my clients go for the Advantage license unless there are some advanced features required that are only offered in the Premier license. I have never seen anyone use the VPN Only license, but if that meets your requirements then there is no reason not to get it.
