All,
We have a ASA5510 with based license in production and we just purchased another ASA5510 with two addtion Security Plus licenses for the HA. My plan is to upgrade the license on the standby unit, then upgrade the license on the Active unit, then turn on the HA.
Am I over look anything?
Thank you again,

You need to have the licenses equal on both boxes to enable Failover, if one box has a different license than the other box failover/HA will not work.

for HA, you will need:
- Same Hardware configuration (ASA 5500, and RAM...)
- Same Software (7.X for both or 8.x for both)
- Proper licenses for Failover (Sec Plus License for same ASA5500)
- Same Modules (AIP, CSC, or 4GE module)
and both ASAs must be in the same mode (Router, or Transparent)
I hope this is useful.
