Failover monitoring on PIX

I have 2 PIX 515e's in failover mode and I have recently encountered failover's to the secondary. I have syslog functioning; however I do not recieve any syslog update of the failover or why it failed. (Documentation says otherwise). I do recieve the following.

May 4 04:15:41 10.18.0.3 May 04 2004 04:15:41: %PIX-1-104004: (Primary) Switching to OK.

May 4 04:15:41 10.18.0.3 May 04 2004 04:15:41: %PIX-1-105003: (Primary) Monitoring on interface 1 waiting

May 4 04:15:41 10.18.0.3 May 04 2004 04:15:41: %PIX-1-105003: (Primary) Monitoring on interface 0 waiting

This looks like the Secondary (10.18.0.3) indicating it is OK. This must be it coming up. I'm trying to figure out how to monitor for this and alert. I have WhatsUpGold and CiscoWorks, but since I don't see the message down message that may be tricky.

Hi,

Any update on this ?

Not from me. I'm expecting that I will either set up an alert from CiscoWorks for the Up message and have that notify me. Or I will write a script to watch my syslog file for that message. I may open a case on this and if there is a better solution I'll post it back.

Syslog it and pick it up that way. Generate an alert that way....
