Failover Scenarios - Nexus & Firewalls

With reference to the attached diagram, how will the traffic switch take place when the primary HSRP Switch fails.

What will be the traffic flow direction in such a scenario.. If the Firewall is monitoring PortChannel 2 for failures so in case Primary Switch goes down will there be a failover at the firewall level also ?

Hi, if you are monitoring the PC and NX will go down, the FW will active failover.

Regards.

.

I am assuming that there are subinterfaces in the Po2 portchannel.  If the primary HSRP switch fails the ASA will failover to the secondary ASA.  By default if one ASA interface fails (not the failover interface) then a failover will happen.

Thank you for the reply... yes Po2 is tagged with a subinterface.. i can see in Firewall both Po2 and Po2.1703 can be monitored for failures.
Will failover occur if either one of them goes down ?

Normally if Po2 goes down so will Po2.1073 so you would only need to monitor the subinterfaces, but remember to monitor all subinterfaces.  That being said if you can add monitoring to Po2 if you like, it will not do anything to your network.
