What happen if the front 100gb ssd died. Or if i buy one without it. Will get an frd2110 free from work…
I’m not finding documentation about this. Their is a lot doc about the second sdd. Will the ftd 7.4 code run correctly? Or it will be in some kind of fxos/rommon mode. And not able to run. Thank you.

You can’t run an ftd 2110 without an ssd. It is required.
In my workplace...we have one....right now with bad ssd. Simply boots says no ssd found and if I want to reboot now and cycles back.

you need to replace with 100GB SSD (most cases standard SSD should work - i tested in my Lab) - not in production one.
