Hello Everyone,
I want to install Deploy a 5.4 FireSIGHT Management Center in order to manage SFR module on Cisco ASA 5515-X firewall. I downloaded the OVA file from Cisco website and this need to be install on VMware (Vsphere) ESXi 5.1 or 5.5 as per this Release notes "http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/firesight/540/relnotes/FireSIGHT-System-Release-Notes-v5-4.html#pgfId-222602".
Now next step is to purchase server and VMware software. I asked the quotation and dealer suggested the below on which is 6.x not 5.x
Part No |
Item Description |
Qty |
VS6-OSTD-C |
VMware vSphere 6 with Operations Management Standard for 1 processor |
1 |
VS6-OSTD-P-SSS-C |
Production Support/Subscription VMware vSphere 6 with Operations Management Standard for 1 year |
1 |
Can anyone advise what is the right VMWare software part no/SKU to order this and which server is recommend to used. Client will used only Firesight Management software on VMware and nothing else, therefore they are looking for minimum requirement server.
Thanks in Advance.

For a minimum specification server, you can run the free VMWare ESXi 5.5 hypervisor.
I had one customer do that successfully.

Thanks marvin for your reply.
Does this solution works without any vmware license.
Could you please provide any download link for this esxi OS.

There's no paid license required for the free version. You do still need to agree to the End User License Agreement (EULA).
It is limited to 8 vCPUs per Guest OS (which is all FireSIGHT requires so you're good).
