FMC 2500 upgrade to 7.4.0.118

Upgrading a Cisco 2500 to 7.4.0.118 using below guide.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/firepower/fmc_model_migration/b_FMC_Model_Migration_Guide/m_fmc_migration_workflow.html#id_111621

Been upgrading for over an hour now how do I view the status? GUI is not reachable, able to login to CLI and see the below.

@NetworkMonkey101 the 2500 series hardware does not support 7.4, you should probably get TAC involved to troubleshoot this.

Hi Rob,

I was under the impression there was a "special" release for 2500 to 7.4?

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/firepower/fmc_model_migration/b_FMC_Model_Migration_Guide/m_fmc_migration_workflow.html#id_111621

  1. Upgrade Management Center 1000, 2500, or 4500 from Version 7.0.x to Version 7.4.0 or 7.4.2. This upgrade is only for migration.

You can download the upgrade package from here: Special Release. Unzip (but do not untar) the upgrade package before uploading it to the on-prem management center.

For more information about the upgrade, see the Cisco Firepower Management Center Upgrade Guide, Version 6.0–7.0

@NetworkMonkey101 apologies, you are correct there does appear to be special release.

You can monitor upgrade logs on the device itself using expert mode and tail or tailf: tail /ngfw/var/log/sf/update.status.

Thanks Rob,
So the GUI has come back after 5 hours! I am now seeing a task for event data migration in process. I am wanting to backup the configuration on the new version I am thinking this should be complete before kicking that off.
