When FMC/FTD 7.7 appeared, I quickly upgraded one of the lab FMC's and a couple of vFTD's. A day or so later FMC 7.7.0-89 was pulled and replaced with 7.7.0-91 with a note saying:
As this is in the lab, I don't have support so a TAC case isn't going to happen. Does anyone know what the workaround is? I actually did the upgrade from 7.7.0-89 to 7.7.0-91 and it appears to have worked OK, but I'm guessing something under the covers is now probably broken.

The new build fixed a NAT exemption setting for site-to-site VPNs. If you are not using any of those, it shouldn't affect you.

Yes, I read that in the release notes. I'm just concerned with the notification on CCO saying to contact TAC for a workaround. As I said I've upgraded to 7.7.0-89 and then to 7.7.0-91 and as far as I can see, its all working.

If you have your pre-7.7 backup then you can just respin a new lab FMC with the old version and then upgrade straight to 7.7.0-91.
You could also open a TAC case using a production FMC contract and see what the "official" work around is. They don't validate a serial number for FMCv - only that you have entitlement.
